Neon Grain ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Redactify mobile application. This Privacy Policy details our strict data privacy practices, the limited platform telemetry required for operation, and your rights when using our mobile application (the "Service").
1. Strict On-Device Processing & Data Architecture
Redactify follows a fundamental "Privacy by Design" architecture:
- Optical Character Recognition (OCR): Text extraction and detection within photos and documents are performed locally on your device using advanced machine learning text recognition algorithms.
- Facial Landmark & Face Detection: Automated face detection features run exclusively on-device using computer vision and machine learning models. No facial templates, biometric descriptors, or facial images are uploaded or stored remotely.
- PDF & Image Processing: File decoding, aspect-ratio brush scaling, page rendering, rasterization, and pixel obscuration (blurring, pixelating, solid blackouts) take place in local device memory.
- Local Storage (Hive): Your redaction history, draft metadata, recent search terms, and user preferences are saved locally on your device using encrypted/local Hive key-value storage. This data never leaves your device.
2. Device Permissions & How They Are Used
To enable seamless redaction workflow, Redactify requests explicit runtime permissions:
- Photos / Media Library (Gallery Access): Allows you to pick images and document scans from your photo gallery for redaction and save exported, redacted media back to your device storage via system APIs (e.g., Gal / Photo Library).
- Storage / File System Access: Required to open PDF files and saved images from your file manager via system document pickers.
- Camera: Used strictly if you capture photos directly within the app for immediate redaction. Captured photos are processed locally.
3. Third-Party Service Providers
To maintain app quality, ensure subscription entitlements, and diagnose technical errors, Redactify integrates a minimal set of trusted third-party SDKs:
- RevenueCat (In-App Subscriptions & Purchases): We utilize RevenueCat (`purchases_flutter`) to manage pro subscriptions, free-tier quotas (e.g., draft limits), and purchase verification across Apple App Store and Google Play Store. RevenueCat processes anonymous device/user tokens and subscription status. We do not collect or store your credit card or financial billing details.
- Firebase Crashlytics & Analytics: We use Firebase Crashlytics to record anonymized crash trace logs to fix bugs, and Firebase Analytics to measure aggregate operational events (such as logging when a redaction session commences or completes, or user Pro status). These telemetry signals contain no media data, file names, OCR text, or personal identity information.
4. Data Security & Retention
Because Redactify does not maintain cloud servers to ingest, store, or transmit your processed documents or photos, your media remains guarded by your device's built-in operating system security (iOS Sandbox / Android App Sandbox). You hold complete control over deleting your local app history and local drafts at any time within the app settings.
5. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children.
